Paul Otlet

Paul Otlet was a Belgian dreamer and visionary, and one of the forefathers of the Internet.
One of his achievements was — together with Henri La Fontaine, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate — foundation of a very successful international non-profit organization called the Union of International Associations (UIA) here in Brussels in 1907.
It is with much fondness that I recall the dozen of so years that I myself had the honour to work for the UIA. On one side because of its century-long history on the international NGO scene, but especially thanks to the intriguing people I met in the process. Friends like Anthony Judge, Nadia McLaren, Jacques de Mévius, Tim Casswell ... to name a few. Thank you all, you've transformed my life forever!
